DEAR in 7AAJ
Since the launch of DEAR in September, 7AAJ have finished 'Oranges in No Man’s Land’ by Elizabeth Laird and are now halfway through 'Every Line of You’ by Naomi Gibson. Below are a few comments from the group on the books we’ve read and the overall DEAR experience.
“I really liked this book because it was short but had a lot of interesting chapters.” - Lyla S
“I like the relationship between Ayesha and her grandmother because Ayesha cares about her so much that she risks killed by entering No Man’s Land to retrieve medicine for her.” - Scarlett N
“I personally enjoyed this book. It includes detailed descriptions of the conditions of an active war zone, and I thought that the sheer bravery and selflessness of the girl showed us what true strength and power are.” - Deeya A
“I learned that even if something is going wrong in your life, you can always do something to make it good.” - Besnik I
“The concept of having a robotic being that has the capability to read your thoughts and help you with things is amazing. Having it also see the screens of other devices and control anything electric is a bonus. I would definitely want that!” - William A
“My favourite part of this book is when Henry (the robot) helps Lydia (the main character) by hacking into Emma’s (Lydia’s bully) house.” - Anisa S
“Overall, I feel this book is really interesting and I love reading it every morning during DEAR time.” - Reeva S
“I think that DEAR is a really good way to read as . . . it helps people to focus more. I also think that it helps you to feel more confident reading aloud.” - Veer S
