Prevent Duty
The government emphasises that schools are required to ensure that key “British Values” are taught in all UK schools. The government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 PREVENT STRATEGY.
Please refer to the link here which sets out the schools' position on Promoting British Values.
In addition, The Department for Education published advice for schools on the Prevent duty, (1 July 2015 ). The Prevent duty requires a wide range of bodies, including all schools and early years and later years childcare providers, to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism in the exercise of their functions.
