Independent Learning
Independent Learning and Revision
At HEHS we expect all students to take ownership of their own learning in both lessons and outside of the classroom. We know that if students develop effective learning habits the gap between what they know and what they need to know will narrow. Effective learning habits will also ensure that they acquire the skills they need for success.
To ensure that students develop these habits we teach revision skills during lessons and tutor time, and teachers regularly set specific revision tasks for homework as part of our assessment cycle. In addition, we encourage students to complete further self-directed study and revision to address specific targets identified in collaboration with their teachers.
