Year 10 – Geography Field Work: The Olympic Regeneration and its Legacy

Posted on: 21/02/2025

Year 10 geographers have been busy this half term preparing for their Urban Fieldwork. In class they have been studying the impact of the London 2012 games and its lasting legacy. This half term they also went to visit the site to explore the Queen Elizabeth Park and the Stratfield West Field Development.

The students were lucky to meet a Park Champion and hear all about how the planning committee fought hard to secure the funding for the regeneration and their continued battles with local residents, Newham Council and the Olympic Committee. Students collected primary data and will be examined on their methods and findings in their upcoming CAPs and external examinations in Year 11.
