Year 12 Geography Urban Rambling Trip
Posted on: 19/02/2025The Year 12 Geographers had a day of fieldwork exploring the impacts of regeneration and gentrification in two locations in London's East end. Our first stop was the Museum of London Docklands, to explore how the area has changed over the last 200 years from a thriving hub of international trade to the aftermath of the Blitz. The students were able to experience firsthand the redevelopment of the area and assess whether, in their opinion, the changes were indeed sustainable.
The second leg of our journey saw us embark on a journey to Stratford via the DLR to assess the Olympic Park, Westfield Shopping Centre and the Queen Elizabth Park. Despite the rain we were able to enjoy the parks and gardens and even took refuge inside the Velodrome to keep dry.
We will now be using our data collated on the day in our upcoming CAP assessments and external examinations.
