Sixth Form Assembly from Gem Cable Solutions

The Sixth Form welcomed to our most recent assembly Steven Jack and Luka Hinton. Steven is Managing Director of Gem Cable Solutions a local company specialising in cabling. Steven told the students how he began as an apprentice and worked his way up through the business, seizing opportunities to gain experience until he had the opportunity to buy the business from its previous owner.

Since becoming Managing Director, Steven has practiced a complementary set of entrepreneurial and commercial skills, including providing cabling solutions for the Mercedes Formula 1 team. Steven was accompanied to school by Luka Hinton who is spending his GAP year working with Gem Cabling Solutions, gaining experience and some money before going to university.

We want to thank both our presenters who gave differing and complementary views of life after Sixth Form. We would also like to extend our thanks to our Governor Julian Greenaway who helped organise this presentation for us.
