Peer Mentoring Training

This week, the newly appointed Year 10 Junior Prefects and Sixth Form Extend tutoring and mentoring team participated in a mentoring training session. Ms. Banfield, our Deputy Safeguarding Lead, led the session, guiding students through the principles of effective mentoring during an early breakfast meeting.

During the training, students learned about asking the right types of questions, the importance of body language, and how to assess the effectiveness of their approach. They were also instructed on the appropriate steps to take if they have any concerns about their mentees.

The team engaged actively, asking thoughtful and relevant questions, and left the session feeling confident and prepared to begin their new roles for the academic year. A big thank you to Ms. Banfield for her invaluable guidance and support in training our team!
