Preparing for Success Careers Event
Posted on: 30/04/2024On Tuesday 30th April, Hatch End High School Year 10 students took part in 'Preparing for Success Day', our annual Careers event which helps our Year 10 students to prepare for the working world.
All students participated in a Body Language and Interview Skill Workshop with Leonita Metaj, an HEHS alumni who now works in Youth Advocacy and Kai Bibi, a Business Admin Apprentice at the Mayor of London's office. Leonita and Kai spoke to the students about the importance of embracing the opportunities presented to them.
After their workshop, all students then participated in a mock interview with an employer from a wide range of professional institutions. Students were asked a range of questions and given feedback on both their interview technique and their CV.
Our students did extremely well, receiving so much positive feedback.
One of the external interviewers stated: 'The quality of students were fantastic and the students that I interviewed were a credit to Hatch End High School and many displayed great ambition.'
One Year 10 student said: ‘This was a great session for me, it has really helped to build my confidence and given me some great feedback to improve my CV’.
A huge thank you to Leonita, Kai and all of our external organisations that took part: Grant Thornton LLP, Network Rail, Royal Air Force, Whitmore High School, Stantec, Mace Group, eMed, Cruze Financial Solutions, British Army, EDT, Magnet, Wanstor, Ablestoke Financial Planning LLP. Well done to our Year 10 students for participating and many thanks to HEHS staff and the HEHS Careers Team for ensuring the event ran smoothly.
