Post CAP 1 Rewards Evening

Posted on: 20/03/2025

We are thrilled to share that the first Post CAP Rewards Ceremony for students in Years 7 to 11 took place on Thursday, 20th March. It was a wonderful evening of celebration, recognising the hard work and achievements of our students.

We were delighted to see so many parents and carers join us to celebrate the success of their children. 195 students attended on the night to receive their awards. The awards presented during the ceremony included:

  • Students within the top 20 for their academic progress scores
  • Students within the top 20 for their academic achievement
  • Students who have hit their target grades in all subjects
  • Students who have received the SLT Praise Award this academic year
  • Head of Year WE CARE Award
  • Students who have collected all available Excellence Tokens

Each award recipient demonstrated the We Care value of Ambition for this term. Celebrating these achievements is crucial as it helps students understand the importance of their hard work and motivates them to continue making excellent progress in future assessment cycles.

This rewards ceremony was extra special as Harrow School generously donated books, so that each student received a free book as an extra reward for their hard work. There was a real buzz in the Great Hall foyer, when students were busy reading blurbs and deciding on which book to take home with them. It was lovely to see the excitement on their faces. Parents and students alike all praised this new initiative. Mrs Samji said that ‘it was very nice and a good incentive for the students’. Arjun Kadam in Year 10 said that ‘It was a great evening. It was amazing getting an award and sharing the stage with my peers. Getting a book for free was the cherry on top. I got the sequel to a book I was already reading which was a bonus." Amaya Patel in year 8 said that ‘she was very happy’ after collecting her book. A clear favourite was the collection by Alice Oseman, which many students were thrilled to take home.

To add to the excitement, all families who attended the ceremony received a raffle ticket for a prize draw, which took place at the end of each ceremony. This added an extra layer of joy and anticipation to the evening.

Mr and Mrs Meehan said that it was ‘such a lovely evening. We are so proud and what a wonderful idea giving them books and very generous of Harrow School. Thank you to everyone.’

We are incredibly proud of all our students and their accomplishments. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this event. We look forward to many more celebrations of our students' successes in the future. The evening was a great success, and this was clearly reiterated by our students. Amy Samji, Dhruvi Kara and Ana Maria Scutaru said that it was ‘Amazing! Awards, food, drinks and a free book!’
