Sixth Form visit to the Chess Club

On 12th December 2024, the chess club was abuzz with excitement as students from the sixth form joined the chess club in honouring the newly crowned World Chess Champion, Gukesh D. The occasion was particularly momentous, as it celebrated Gukesh’s record-breaking achievement of becoming the youngest world chess champion, defeating Ding Liren in a historic match.

To commemorate this remarkable milestone, the chess club organized a series of honorary games that brought together students of different age groups. This event showcased the unifying power of chess, transcending age and experience while fostering camaraderie and respect.
