Highlights from Performing Arts

Arts Award Congratulations!

A huge well done to all of our Year 8 students who were entered for the Bronze arts award this year. We are so proud of their achievements. These students worked hard in their extracurricular lesson every other week to complete a number of tasks in order to complete this Level 1 qualification. Students participated in practical workshops, reviewed a professional theatre performance, led their peers in practical workshop sessions and created presentations on their chosen arts’ inspirational heroes.

This year the students who achieved this Level 1 qualification are:

Jiya G, Yusuf B, Anayah B, Eloise H, Yasmin J, Alise P, Tanvi S, Khyber S, Sarah Hussain, Rudra P, Rishi Patel, Michal G, Angel C, Emma P.

We are also extremely proud of 3 of our Year 9 students who successfully passed the Level 2 qualification of the Silver arts award, which was the first time at Hatch End that students have been entered for this. It took a lot of independent work as well as research, leading an extracurricular club, setting themselves an arts challenge and reflecting on all of their learning. These students have really made a brilliant contribution to the arts world this year:

I would also like to take this opportunity to say a warm goodbye to students and parents as I will be leaving Hatch End and relocating with my family. I have had a fantastic few years here at Hatch End and will miss so many of you all. We have all been actively promoting the arts here and I have loved seeing all of our clubs and the school show grow again. Thank you to my lovely team of staff and good luck to Ms Carroll who will be coming in September and who already knows Hatch End very well! Wishing you all the best for your futures.
