Year 11 into 12 Taster Day

Posted on: 02/07/2024

Monday 1st July marked the beginning of the transition to Year 12 for many Year 11 students who are hoping to secure their place at Hatch End for Sixth Form in September. It was great to see so many of our Year 11 students and also several students who are hoping to join from other Secondary Schools – local and abroad.

The day started with a brief assembly delivered by Mrs Jeanes, who spoke about the exciting opportunities that await Year 12s in September including a trip to Romania in July 2025, which will bring the opportunity to not only do some sight-seeing, but also to develop several skills through charity work. Over the course of the day, students were given the opportunity to meet their teachers as well as participate in lessons where they received a taste of the subject content in addition to learning more about the structure of their courses. They also had the opportunity to participate in team building and communication activities in the Round House at various points during the day. The day ended with some of our current Year 12 students sharing their experiences of Sixth Form as well as hints and tips they’ve gained after completing their first year in Sixth Form.

The soon-to-be Year 12 students engaged well in all activities throughout the day and we wish them the best of luck for their GCSE results in August and we are very much looking forward to welcoming them in September as members of the Hatch End Sixth Form community.
