We Can Be 2024

On Tuesday 5th March, our Year 10 Hatch End High School students were invited to the City of London for the event 'We Can Be' by the Lord Mayor's Appeal.
 

Through exposure to and collaboration with participating City businesses, We Can Be is an opportunity for young women to be inspired to join the City workforce - realising and polishing the skills that they already have, building confidence, and learning how those skills transfer into the City.

In the morning, the students arrived at Anthemis Group, an investment company. Ready to immerse into the City Business Life, students learnt about their business through a tour of the building, a fun game of 'Who am I' and were asked to present a unique product that the business could invest in.

In the afternoon, all groups came together at Guildhall, where they were joined by City employees both from the companies they visited in the morning and other organisations keen to show their commitment to the gender agenda. The focus was around collaboration and teamwork, which are vital skills that can significantly impact not just their career, but anything they are involved in.

The day ended with students given the opportunity to network with other London businesses and make a pledge to be committed.
