Posted on: 9/09/2024Sixth Form Assembly from Gem Cable Solutions The Sixth Form welcomed to our most recent assembly Steven Jack and Luka Hinton. Steven is Managing Director of Gem Cable Solutions a local company specialising in cabling. Steven told the students how he began as an apprentice and worked his way up through the business, seizing opportunities to gain experience until he had the opportunity to buy the business from its previous owner. Since becoming Managing Director, Steven has practiced a complementary set of entrepreneurial and commercial skills, including providing cabling solutions for the Mercedes Formula 1 team. Steven was accompanied to school by Luka Hinton who is spending his GAP year working with Gem Cabling Solutions, gaining experience and some money before going to university. We want to thank both our presenters who gave differing and complementary views of life after Sixth Form. We would also like to extend our thanks to our Governor Julian Greenaway who helped organise this presentation for us.
Posted on: 4/07/2024Year 13 PromThe Sixth Form Committee had been planning Year 13 Prom since September, with a lot of deliberation on the venue, decorations, music, the ticket price and also food options. The venue was Blue Room Sports Venue which was decorated with black, gold, and silver. The buffet was a selection of Indian dishes served with rice and naan which was so good that we went back for as many plates as we could eat. The Year 13 Prom will definitely be remembered as an amazing evening with friends as we celebrated the end of our time together as Year 13 students. Throughout the night the dance floor was active with many dancing all night. Everyone was immaculately dressed in suits and beautiful dresses. It was a fantastic evening, which I and those who attended will always remember. by Amelia K
