Business Breakfast

This week, Hatch End High School were delighted to host another Business Breakfast meeting, with five of our BTEC Business Studies students in attendance.

This type of business meeting is a great way for students to see how networking takes place and get involved, have encounters with various employers, and is an ideal opportunity to ask pertinent questions about the sectors of work they are interested in.

The presentation was by Ian Randell, Director of CBJ Digital Ltd, who explained what ChatGPT is and how it can be used in business, as well as the benefits and negatives of it.

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI and launched in November 2022. It is built on top of OpenAI's GPT-3 family of large language models and has been fine-tuned using both supervised and reinforcement learning techniques.

Some of the benefits of using ChatGPT within your business include:

- Faster response times
- Accurate responses
- Reduced customer service costs
- Better customer engagement
- Unlimited scalability

Some of the negatives include:

- Can provide inaccurate or misinformed answers
- Is very formal
- Has machine language
- Is not very detailed
- Is not a human expert

Nevertheless, it is here to stay and worth being aware of and embracing it into your business, as it can save huge amounts of time and money into any business.
