Year 12 & Year 13 FORMA Trip
Posted on: 17/10/2022On Wednesday 12th October, Hatch End High School took our Year 12 & 13 Art and Photography students to RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) to the Forma Exhibition.
Students had the opportunity to talk to representatives from a wide variety of Universities, including admissions tutors and tutors. They got the opportunity to get some advice and feedback on their portfolios and had a talk regarding what an Arts Degree is like, including information about Foundation Years, Gap Years and portfolios. The trip was extremely informative, and we hope to make it an annual trip from now on. The feedback from the students was very positive:
“Visiting FORMA was an amazing experience as it helped me to get a better understanding of University choices and it was an outstanding mind-opener. I’m so glad that I’ll be able to return next year along with my portfolio. Additionally, visiting the RIBA was an absolute dream come true as someone wanting to pursue my career in Architecture”. Sanshali, Year 12
“Attending FORMA truly helped me understand a little more about possible Art related careers, and even allowed me to speak directly to my dream University, asking for advice and information. I’m very grateful to have gone and would love to experience it again next year as a Year 13.” Kamsy, Year 12
“Visiting the FORMA event, I was able to have a one-to-one conversation with actual University Admissions Officers, who were able to give advice with my portfolio and personal statement.” Roxolana Year 13
“FORMA was most definitely an enjoyable experience, I love how friendly and welcoming the different courses and Universities were. It was so easy to be comfortable and ask questions, as they would listen attentively and dive into full detail. I feel that it has fuelled my motivation to continue Art related courses in the future, and inspired me to look into degrees I have never heard of or had experience in.” Cherry Year 12
