National Theatre Playwriting Workshop

On the 10th of December, a selection of students in Year 10 - 13 participated in a Playwriting Workshop with the playwright Martin Murphy. Martin was working with the students as part of National Theatre New Views.

Students from Hatch End will be writing 30-minute plays as part of the programme and Martin was in school to give the pupils some dramaturgical support. He will be working with the pupils as they draft their plays.

Ten New Views plays from across the country will be chosen for professional readings at The National Theatre and one lucky winner will have a full-scale production of their play produced! Students at Hatch End High School have been writing some amazing scenes and are coming up with impressive character ideas.

Break a leg to the students as they continue to develop their plays! The next Samuel Beckett or Anton Checkov may will be in our midst...
