National Quality Mark in Careers Standard
Posted on: 26/11/2021Hatch End High School are delighted to announce that we have successfully achieved the National Quality Mark in Careers Standard, which recognises the high standard of Careers Provision.
Our assessor was most impressed with the amount of evidence put forward for the award and commented on the knowledge, professionalism and enthusiasm with regards to this process by our staff, not just within the Careers Department, but also Subject Teachers, Heads of Department and Heads of Year, who attended the final assessment meetings.
Our Careers Leader, Mr Richards said in response: “We are so proud of this achievement and it explains why on the DFE Performance Tables, Hatch End High School students have such wonderful destinations year after year. I want to thank all of our staff who have taken Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance to their hearts and made it part of our culture: it continues to benefit all of our students so much as we prepare them for the world of work.”
Further comments included:
“There is a strongly aspirational element to the content of the programme and this aligns with the school’s overall priorities.”
“There was strong evidence of students having learnt well from the CEIAG programme.”
“The school provides strong coverage of information on all options via a range of methods – posters, booklets, Unifrog, visits, presentations and through guidance, so that different pathways are understood.”
“The evidence provided indicates that experience of the world of work is a strong component of the school’s CEIAG offer, with well conceived encounters with employers, employees and work place experience.”
“Of particular note is the openness to ideas and responsiveness to comment about the programme, looking for ways to enhance provision and to raise its profile.”
Mr Richards, Deputy Headteacher / Head of Careers
