Arts Week
Posted on: 03/07/2018It is the time of year again when we celebrate everything great in the Arts faculty. We have had many students completing A-levels, GCSEs and BTECs in all subjects, and “ARTS WEEK” will be a celebration of this. We hope that you will be able to join us.
The Art Department have created an amazing amount of work this year, and there will be an exhibition on Tuesday, 3rd July from 3.00pm until 8.30pm, on the stage in the Great Hall. This will be coupled with our talented students from the Music department, entertaining you with their concert from 7.00pm (outside the front of the Great Hall). The Torch Café will also be open for refreshments from 4.00pm, and for the duration of the concert. It promises to be a wonderful summer’s evening.
On Wednesday, 4th July it is the turn of the BTEC Level 2 Performing Arts students, who will be performing their Musical Theatre and Physical Theatre scenes. This is part of their exam and they have been rehearsing hard. Tea and coffee will be served during theinterval, and this event will be held in The Round House.
I has been yet another successful year of events in the Arts Faculty and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our students and staff who have worked incredibly hard. I would especially like to thank Miss Carroll who is leaving us for pastures new in September and will be sorely missed. I look forward to seeing you in “Arts Week”.
Mrs Firth, Head of Arts Faculty
