Aiming High - Brilliant Club

Posted on: 30/04/2018

The Brilliant Club Scholars Programme aims to provide pupils with an insight into university-level studying. Twelve of our Year 8 students were given the opportunity to take part in the programme with a Launch Event at SOAS - University of London. They will attend a series of tutorials with a PhD tutor before submitting a 1500-2000-word essay.

At the end of the programme, eleven of our students will graduate at a Russell Group university. Alongside this, twelve of our Year 10s and eight of our Year 12s have just completed the programme and will graduate on Monday, 22nd May. We are extremely proud of the students who participated and the dedication and maturity they demonstrated. All students submitted their essays on time and a number achieved a 1st class mark. Overall, the students exceeded both the regional and national average, and we look forward to seeing them excel throughout their time here at Hatch End High School.

Miss Sharma

“We went to two of the best universities to start and end our journey of a university style life, where we were able to write and learn in a way that someone from university would. We did this course over a few weeks, and also got the opportunity to expand our knowledge of what we can be and expect from life. During this time, we got a hint of where life can take us, but ultimately it depends on us and the choices we make.”
