Primary Art Workshops

What a wonderful Wednesday we had on the 15th of January, meeting a class of Year 5s from Grimsdyke Primary School to join us for a super speedy printing workshop. In the space of just over an hour they learnt how various cultures use pattern and applied their knowledge to create their own design and then printed it! We're looking forward to meeting more Grimsdyke students over the following weeks this Spring term.

Art Club - School Show Props, More Help Needed!

A huge thank you to all the students that are attending art club, whether at break times or after school, some are working on their own projects and others are in the process of designing and creating props to be used in the school show.

If you're interested in helping out, please come to T22 and see Mrs McGarvey or Miss Cole. We could do with a few more helpers. The art club consists of people from a lot of year groups and runs on Tuesdays. Although, T22 is open every day if you still want to help but can't make a Tuesday due to other clubs.

Don't forget to book tickets for the show too!

DEAR Bookmark Competition

A huge thank you to all the Year 7 and 8 students that have worked so hard on their DEAR bookmark designs at home. The competition was launched and collected just before Christmas; however, it's been really hard for Mrs Jeffs and me to choose the winners!

Artist of the month

This month our artist of the month goes to Nicole L I for her outstanding piece of homework. Completed using coloured pencils with the occasional additions of white pen, it's a beautiful example of 'Natural Forms' which is a topic our Year 7s have been working on.
