Autism Reality Experience Training

Posted on: 08/10/2024

On Monday 7th October and Monday 14th October we welcomed Training2CARE to Hatch End High School. Members of staff had the opportunity to take part in the Autism Reality Experience on their specially designed bus. The Autism Reality Experience is a simulation of sensory overload. Staff got to wear special goggles, headphones and gloves and take part in a hands on simulation to see how it feels to navigate a school environment as an overwhelmed young person with ASD. Well done to all staff who took part and thank you to The Sheila Coates Foundation for fully funding this unique opportunity.

"It really opened my eyes to what our students go through" - Teaching Assistant after experiencing the bus.
