For the past year and a half, I have been at the University of Liverpool studying Accounting and Finance. I had some reservations about coming to university as I did not know if I could survive on my own. However, since coming I feel it's the best decision I have ever made. University has enabled me to become more independent and more thankful. You don't realise the value of something until you have to do it yourself, for example making your own dinners or cleaning up after your-self.
Although university has enabled me to make some great friends and have memorable nights out, there is more independence when it comes to your education. Although this may seem like a good thing, it's not; students are expected to complete work and attend lectures of their own accord as registers are hardly taken. University professors write and mark exam papers. therefore, if you don't attend lectures it’s simple to assume you won't get the best grade. Universities are also very strict with deadlines, submitting work a minute late can result in getting 0.
Going to university may seem scary but it is the best experience you will have, not only does it set you up for the future it also lets you hang onto the last remaining years you have as a young adult before things start to get serious.
